TASK IQ USER GUIDE

Assign work to the right person

Give a work order a clear owner and a useful next step.

Assignment fields with an Accountable owner, optional Team and Additional workers.
Example workspace · Choose the accountable owner, add a team or additional workers when needed, then save the assignment. Example people shown.

Before you begin

You need access to assign the work order. Check the problem, priority and the department that should handle it before selecting someone.

Step by step

  1. Open Work orders and select the order you want to assign. If you are starting from Requests, review the request and use Create work order when appropriate.
  2. In Next steps, choose Assign, or Reassign if the work already has an owner.
  3. Choose the Accountable owner and, when useful, a Team. Select Additional workers if more people need to help.
  4. Review your choices and choose Save assignment. The order’s Details show who owns it.
  5. Use the work order’s Conversation to add any context the person will need.

What happens next

The work order has a clear owner or team. Check its Details after saving so you know the change was recorded.

Need a hand?

If Assign is missing, the work may be in a state you cannot change, or you may need different access. Ask your supervisor. An assignment does not automatically create a calendar visit; schedule a visit separately when needed.
